It All Started When Two Moms started Talking...
How a simple conversation created the event we now know and love as the Plano Family Expo. Ananda and Jennifer, both moms, working moms and entrepreneurs were in a waiting room and the topic of what to do with the kids this summer came up.. we both looked at each other and said.. "I have no idea.." Its hard to get online and gauge if children are going to connect with the sport, activity, people, summer camp.. and it seems like we can never get on the phone with anyone now a days.. who has time during the week between soccer games, work, ballet lessons, school and cooking dinner to find where to bank, where to shop, to find resources in the community or connect with local businesses owners..
"Wouldn't it be nice to have an event where the children would have something to keep them entertained and meanwhile we can go and find all of these answers?!"
When were talking to each other as moms it made sense but had no idea the impact we would make on our community, together we met with our partner in success Vijay and ran by both the problem and the solution all us moms and families have been waiting for. He was in!
The Next couple of months planning our first event would be the paving way for now the 8th events celebration! We first started with attractions- we wanted to make sure the children's activities, games and interactive play was the first priority as well as making it FREE for parents so like us we can ensure that they are paying for the services they are looking for not by attending the event.
Sponsors would play a big part on how to continue this. We are always looking for community partner and sponsors to keep the event FREE to public.
We are so grateful for the love and support we have received over the past 4 years, we look forward to many many more successful events together!
